Aquarius - The Water Bearer
(20th January - 18th February)

Her name is Aurora, a Scandinavian beauty from Iceland with green eyes. Aquarius is often depicted as a man. But I always envisioned it as a woman. At first I sketched her as a mermaid but to me it didn't look right. A mermaid is not something relatable. It's not sexy. A real woman is more beautiful. So I made Aquarius a pale woman who brings water to you to relieve you of your stress and anxiety. She purifies the water and keeps the world around her clean. She puts out your fire and puts your mind at ease. Her name begins with an 'A' and ends with an 'A'.

Pisces - The Sharks
(19th February - 20th March)

Sharks also have feelings. These two have conflicting personalities. One likes to swim around and show off his aggressiveness, his personality is explosive and his movement is rapid. The other shark is a little shy, she is steady and swims slower with grace and elegance. She prefers to watch her brother show off and make a fool of himself. She is more calm and approachable. Instead of going for the fancy fish look, I made Pisces into sharks. To show the majesty of these magnificent creatures.

Aries - The Ram
(21st March - 19th April)

He is definitely proud and keen to show off his magnificent horns. They twist and spiral from his head. Without saying a word stands out. The hairs on his body have a range of browns and greys, but the one thing that is striking about him are his eyes. Golden amber. He wants you to look into his eyes. Although he is silent, his actions speak the loudest.

Taurus - The Bull
(20th April - 20th May)

Bulls are often depicted as charging aggressive creatures. This one is calm, collected, stoic, and understanding. He is aware of the weapons on his head and knows he can come across thratening if he wants to. Hea stands tall, and proud. The sun behind him is a halo for him, hidden behind the clouds. He looks at you with mercy and welcoming respect. Instead of depicting him as a black bull, I made him dark brown.

Gemini - The Twin Babies
(21st May - 20th June)

Twin babies. Almost ready for birth. They are sleeping in the close company of each other in their mother's womb. They can hear the muffled noises from outside and they ponder with curiosity what they are. At first I drew them as foetuses but I wasn't happy with it, and I wasn't going to depict them as fully grown adults anyway. I'm happy with this depiction. It suits the constellation nicely. Are they twin boys or twin girls? Or is one a boy and is other a girl? I'll leave that for you to guess.

Cancer - The Crab
(21st June - 22nd July)

Running along the surface of the water to retreat. He likes his privacy. I drew this crab by combining features of different crabs that I liked. I gave him different shaped spikes and horns to give his body a range of surfaces, some rough, some smooth. The red exoskeleton is smooth, and his rough black spikes and horns give off a purple tint. His eyes stand out from his body, grey and green. Perhaps he prefers a quiet place to listen to you. When he is focused on you, you have his full attention.

Leo - The Lion
(23rd July - 22nd August)

This one took me the longest to make because I wanted to show the anatomy of a big cat. Rather than depict him as a lion floating in space, I brought him down to Earth. He reveres the sun as he likes all the other stars. He expresses his reverence by roaring at the sun during the day. The same way the a wolf howls at the moon at night. His roar echoes across the land as a mark of his terrtiory. Asserting himself as the leader, expressing his aggression. He is strong and proud. The King of his land.

Virgo - The Fertile Virgin
(23rd August - 22nd September)

Her name is Anna, a Polish blonde with blue eyes. I wanted to show the world the natural beauty of women. Accompanied by a sheaf of wheat, they represent fertility. The dates of the Virgo constalltion is the time of the harvest. My interpretation of Virgo is woman who is ready for passionate sex and wants to have children. The name Anna begins with an 'A' and ends with an 'A'. A lover of men.

Libra - The Lady Justice
(23rd September - 22nd October)

Her name is Antonia, a Mediterranean Greek brunette with brown eyes. But she is blindfolded for she is Lady Justice. Rather than draw a dull set of scales on its own, I wanted to bring this zodiac to life. So I thought Lady Justice was fitting. This is my interpretation. Armed with a sword, Antonia is a seeker of Justice. The name Antonia begins with an 'A' and ends with an 'A'.

Scorpio - The Scorpion
(23rd October - 21st November)

For this Zodiac, I wanted to show a scorpion's face up close. To show his eyes, and his mouth. Although he holds posture, with his claws out in front, and the sting on the end of his tail hanging over his head, he is inviting you. He is listening to you. But be careful what you say, otherwise he will hurt you. He asserts his boundaries, and demands mutual respect. This scorpion is still. Fearless. Despite his lightning speed and effortless agility, he prefers to move slowly, with thought. Deep down he has a firey passionate personality but he doesn't show it, and yet it glows on the surface of his body. Silent, but deadly.

Sagittarius - The Centaur
(22nd November - 21st December)

Often depicted as half a Greek man and half a horse, I changed the man into a Scandinavian Viking, with long blonde hair and blue eyes. Instead of going for the traditional bow and arrow, I gave him a gatling gun. He can spread his fire as he gallops. His name is Varg. He charges through the fields and gallops across the plains. He's a passionate creature who goes for what he wants, and tackles every obstacle in his path.

Capricorn - The Goat
(22nd December - 19th January)

His name is Takistes. He is named after a green olive often found and eaten in Cyprus, which is what his green eyes resemble. He was born to stand out from the crowd. Instead of having brown or black hairs, he has white hair that gradients into light grey. His eyes are alert and observant. He knows how you feel just by looking at you. You don't need to tell him anything, he knows. Yet he puts your mind at ease with his presence. He empathises with you.
